Accessing Higher Ground 2026, organized by AHEAD and in partnership with ATLAS at the University of Colorado Boulder, announced on April 16 that it is accepting proposals for its 29th annual conference. The submission deadline is April 29.

The Accessible Media, Web and Technology Conference will take place from November 16 to November 20 at the Hilton Denver City Center. Organizers are seeking presentations on a range of topics including accessible media, universal design, best practices for web and media development, accessible curriculum, alternate formats, artificial intelligence, legal and policy issues such as ADA and Section 508 compliance, evidence-based research, teaching about accessibility in curriculum, as well as campus-wide or business-wide accessibility initiatives.

Proposals can be submitted for one- or two-hour main conference sessions or longer preconference workshops lasting three or six hours. Preconference speakers receive additional discounts on conference fees. “Preconference speakers receive a 50% discount for three-hour sessions and a full waiver for full-day workshops,” organizers said.

Discounts are also available to participants: out-of-state speakers receive a ten percent discount on registration; members of the CU campus community get an additional five percent off; and CU Boulder participants are eligible for a ten percent discount due to its AHEAD membership.

Organizers encourage interested individuals to use the online speaker proposal form available through the AHG website. Last year’s session calendar is also available online to help potential presenters understand the typical agenda and topics covered at previous conferences.

For questions regarding proposal submissions or further information about speaking opportunities and discounts, contact Howard Kramer at hkramer@colorado.edu or call 720-351-8668.
