AMA: Consumers face decade-long lack of choice in health insurance markets

Consumers across the United States have faced limited choices in commercial health insurance markets over the past decade, according to a new report from the American Medical Association (AMA). The report highlights that many regions continue to experience low levels of competition among insurers.

The AMA’s findings point to ongoing challenges for consumers seeking diverse and competitive health plan options. According to the organization, this lack of competition can affect premiums, coverage choices, and overall consumer satisfaction.
