The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will carry out repairs on several damaged guardrail sections along US Highway 160 east of Cortez on Tuesday, July 29. The affected area spans from Mile Points 40 to 44.

Work is scheduled to take place between 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., and is dependent on weather conditions. Motorists traveling between Cortez and Mancos should expect up to 15-minute delays due to alternating one-lane traffic. Traffic will be managed by signs, cones, and flagging personnel, with speeds reduced to 40 miles per hour during the operation.

“Motorists are urged to slow down and use extreme caution when approaching and driving through the work zone,” CDOT stated.

Travelers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys during these hours. For updated information on highway impacts, motorists can consult the COtrip.org website.
