City of Colorado Springs announces closures for Veterans Day holiday

All City of Colorado Springs administrative and elected offices will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. This closure includes several city facilities such as the Mountain Metropolitan Transit administrative office, City Administration Building, City Clerk, City Hall, Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, Deerfield Community Center, Helen Hunt Falls Visitor Center, Hillside Community Center, Municipal Court, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Administration Building, Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site, Sales Tax Office, Sports and Therapeutic Recreation Programs Office in Memorial Park, and Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center.

Certain city amenities will remain open on Tuesday. Fairview and Evergreen cemeteries will have their gates open though their offices will be closed. The Patty Jewett Golf Course and Valley Hi Golf Course will also stay open. Sertich Ice Center will operate as usual. The Pikes Peak Highway will offer free admission to active and retired military personnel with identification on Monday, November 11; access is dependent on weather conditions.

The In Their Honor Veterans Day Parade is scheduled for Saturday, November 8 in downtown Colorado Springs starting at 11 a.m. The parade is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to use public parking garages; information about rates and times can be found at https://coloradosprings.gov/parking.
