City of Colorado Springs announces holiday closures for municipal offices and facilities

Many City of Colorado Springs administrative and elected offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24; Thursday, December 25; and Thursday, January 1 in observance of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. The closures include the City Administration Building, City Clerk, City Hall, Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, Evergreen and Fairview Cemeteries Offices (though gates remain open to visitors), Municipal Court, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Administrative Building, Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site, Sales Tax Office, Sports Office and Therapeutic Recreation Program at Memorial Park, and Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center.

Some city entities will have adjusted hours during the holiday period:

Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain will be closed on December 25. It will be open on December 24 and January 1 from 9 a.m., with last entry at 3 p.m., weather permitting. For current conditions, residents are advised to call (719) 385-7325.

Sertich Ice Center will offer public skating on December 24 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., but will be closed on December 25. On December 31 and January 1 there will be no public sessions due to a hockey tournament.

Skate in the Park at Acacia Park presented by Academy Bank is available for walk-up admissions only. Details about schedules and pricing can be found at DowntownCS.com/Skate. The rink is closed on December 24 and December 25. On December 31 it operates from 10 a.m. to noon, from 1 to 3 p.m., and from 4 to 6 p.m.; on January 1 it is open from 1 to 3 p.m., from 4 to 6 p.m., and from 7 to 9 p.m.

Patty Jewett and Valley Hi municipal golf courses are open at limited hours on December 24 and December 31—opening at 9 a.m., with last tee times for an eighteen-hole round at ten o’clock in the morning and for nine holes at noon; these times depend on weather conditions. Both courses are closed on December 25 but reopen with similar hours on January 1.

The Patty Jewett Bar & Grill as well as Valley Hi Grill & Pub are closed both days—December 24 and December 25.

Westside Community Centers are closed from December 22 through Friday, January 2.

Deerfield Community Center is closed between December 22–26 as well as on January 1.

Hillside Community Center is not open between Wednesday, December 24–26 or between Wednesday, December 31–January 2.
