Colorado Chooses Vaccines, a coalition focused on public health, has announced efforts to provide clear and science-based information about vaccines to Colorado residents. The group aims to address federal policy changes, support strong state advocacy for immunization access, and counteract misinformation about vaccines.

The coalition is responding to what it describes as a critical period in vaccine communication. According to the group, federal agencies have been promoting vaccine misinformation, including claims that contradict established scientific research regarding vaccines and autism. At the same time, there has been an increase in cases of measles, pertussis, and other diseases that can be prevented by vaccination. Vaccination rates are also reportedly declining.

“Our coalition focuses on: Response to federal action, monitoring federal policy changes and rapidly translating their implications for Colorado. Strong state policy and advocacy that protects access to vaccines and defends against efforts to weaken the immunization system. Clear, coordinated communication that helps Coloradans get trustworthy information, addresses misinformation, and elevates voices of trusted messengers across the state,” said representatives from Colorado Chooses Vaccines.

The group says it will work with experts and community members to help providers respond quickly to policy changes and offer educational tools designed for easy use. “Together, we will strengthen the systems that make vaccination simple, safe, and accessible for Coloradans of all ages,” the statement continued.

“Colorado Chooses Vaccines brings together experts and community voices to provide clarity amid national uncertainty. We support providers, respond quickly to policy changes, share easy-to-use educational tools, and make sure Colorado continues to follow evidence—not politics—when it comes to keeping people healthy,” according to the organization.
