The Colorado Department of Transportation will conduct an asphalt overlay surface treatment on US Highway 50, west of Monarch Pass near Sargents, from Tuesday, Sept. 9 through Thursday, Sept. 11. The paving work is scheduled daily between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

During the three-day project, motorists traveling this stretch of US 50 (Mile Points 193 to 196) should expect full stops and alternating one-lane traffic. Delays of up to 15 minutes are anticipated as crews pave approximately three miles of roadway.

A map provided by the Colorado Department of Transportation shows the area affected by the paving operations and notes that drivers should plan for possible delays and changes in traffic patterns during construction hours.
