Motorists traveling in southwest Colorado should prepare for road closures on Tuesday, November 25, as the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will close three mountain passes for winter maintenance preparation. The affected routes include US 160 Wolf Creek Pass, US 550 Red Mountain Pass, and CO 145 Lizard Head Pass.

According to CDOT, travelers can expect full stops and delays that may last up to two hours. These closures are necessary to allow safety-critical helicopter operations on the passes.

The department has provided a Highway Closure Alert Map showing the scheduled closures for these locations. CDOT urges motorists to plan accordingly and be aware of the potential impacts on travel times.
