The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) has identified several new locations in Mesa County where people may have been exposed to measles between August 22 and August 27, 2025. The sites include Trailblazer Pizza in Fruita, multiple dates at Community Hospital in Grand Junction, Shell Gas Station in Fruita, Roper Music Store in Grand Junction, and Golden Gate Petrol in Grand Junction.

People who were present at these locations during the specified times are advised to watch for symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a rash. CDPHE recommends that anyone who develops symptoms contact their health care provider by phone before seeking care.

“We will continue to maintain and regularly update a list of exposure locations on our website, as well as 2025 Colorado measles case information,” according to the department.

CDPHE explained its approach to sharing information about potential exposures: “Exposure information is the most important public health detail. Going forward, CDPHE will share exposure alerts whenever new public locations are identified and confirmed. Case details (age, travel details, vaccination status) will not be included in these alerts.”

Press releases from CDPHE will be reserved for larger events such as significant outbreaks or changes in reporting procedures. The department said this alert system aims to provide timely updates about where exposures have occurred and what actions individuals should take.

“CDPHE is committed to ensuring the public and media receive the most timely and actionable information during measles activity in Colorado,” officials stated.

The list of exposure sites is available on the CDPHE website along with additional information about current measles cases.
