The Colorado Medical Society (CMS) is preparing for its 2025 Annual Meeting, which will take place in Keystone. The event is scheduled to begin on Friday with the CMS Board of Directors’ final quarterly meeting of the year. This meeting will be available both in person and virtually, and all CMS members are invited to attend.

A welcome reception will follow on Friday evening, offering networking opportunities, a trivia game with prizes, and selection of the CMS Prom Court. Medical students and residents are encouraged to present their research in categories such as primary research, case report, and evidence-based review. Poster presentations will be judged on Saturday, with winners announced later that day.

Saturday’s agenda includes breakfast at 7 a.m., followed by educational sessions starting at 8 a.m. Topics will address federal legislation impacts on Colorado, rebuilding public trust in physicians, reputation management, ethics in advocacy, among others. Speakers include Carolynn Francavilla-Brown, MD, FOMA; Kamran Dastoury, MD; Matthew Wynia, MD, MPH; and featured presenter Bobby Mukkamala, MD, President of the American Medical Association.

During lunch on Saturday, COMPAC will highlight recipients of the Defender of Medicine award. The day concludes with the Presidential Gala themed “Prom: Black Tie; White Coats,” where outgoing president Kim Warner, MD passes leadership to Brigitta Robinson, MD. The gala features dinner, dessert buffet, DJ-led dancing and time for socializing.

Childcare is available on Saturday during designated hours with organized activities for children in the morning.

Attendees can also enjoy local recreational activities such as hiking trails from Keystone Gulch Trailhead—including options for challenging 14er hikes—biking at Keystone Bike Park before its seasonal closure after September 21st (requiring a one-day lift ticket), golfing at Keystone Ranch Golf Course for nine or eighteen holes, or water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding on Keystone Lake.

“We are especially pleased to welcome American Medical Association President Bobby Mukkamala, MD, as our featured presenter.”

More information about registration and childcare options is available through the event webpage or by contacting membership@cms.org.
