The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) saw an increase in passenger traffic in August 2025, with 230,053 travelers passing through the terminal. This marks a 4 percent rise compared to August 2024. Enplanements were up by 4.6 percent year-over-year, and seat availability increased by 8.6 percent.

The airport reported an overall load factor of 79.9 percent, which is a decrease of 3.1 percentage points from the same month last year. Delta Air Lines and United Airlines both recorded double-digit growth in enplanements, reflecting their significant increases in seat capacity at COS. Southwest Airlines had fewer passengers but offered slightly more seats during the month.

COS officials stated that they remain focused on long-term growth by expanding air service offerings and strengthening airline partnerships to serve as a key travel hub for the Pikes Peak region.

Southwest Airlines will resume its seasonal international service to Cancun for select dates between November 2025 and April 2026. The airline will also begin year-round, five-times-weekly service to San Diego starting October 2, 2025, and will bring back seasonal flights to San Antonio on peak holiday dates. Service to Houston will become daily beginning March 5, 2026.

Construction is ongoing at Gates 1 and 3, which are expected to reopen before Thanksgiving. The Mountain View Food Court and Atrevida Beer Company continue operations during this period. Evolve by Hudson is closed for renovations but operates a temporary location near Gates 7 and 9; the renovated store is scheduled to open in November.

Allegiant Air will return with twice-weekly flights to Santa Ana/Orange County and St. Petersburg/Tampa, as well as seasonal service to Phoenix/Mesa starting October 2, 2025.

American Airlines offers six daily flights to Dallas/Ft. Worth with connections across the U.S., and daily service to Chicago O’Hare began June 5, 2025.

Delta Air Lines provides twice-daily flights to Atlanta (except Saturdays), transitioning to daily service in October, along with twice-daily flights to Salt Lake City.

Southwest continues weekly seasonal flights to Cancun on select dates through spring of next year, launches new San Diego service in October, adjusts Baltimore/Washington service frequency during off-peak periods and holidays, brings back seasonal San Antonio routes during holiday peaks, increases Houston service starting March next year, and maintains daily Denver connections.

United Airlines serves Denver (with twelve daily flights), Houston (IAH), and Chicago (ORD), offering connections throughout the country and internationally.
