The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) reported a decrease in passenger traffic for July 2025, with 242,314 travelers moving through the terminal. This marks a 3.4 percent drop compared to July of the previous year. Enplanements also declined by 3.1 percent year-over-year, while seat availability increased by 1.3 percent. The airport’s overall load factor was recorded at 80.5 percent, which is a decrease of 3.7 percentage points from last year.
Airport officials attribute this decline to national trends, noting that airports across the United States are experiencing lower demand.
Despite the overall downturn, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines both posted double-digit growth in enplanements during July. This growth was attributed to new service routes such as Chicago O’Hare (ORD), seasonal flights to Minneapolis–St. Paul (MSP), and added frequencies to Atlanta (ATL) and Salt Lake City (SLC). United Airlines also saw similar growth due to an additional frequency to Denver (DEN) and larger aircraft being used on certain routes.
Looking ahead, COS plans continued strategic expansion through new air service offerings and partnerships with airlines in order to strengthen its position as a key travel hub for the Pikes Peak region.
