Colorado Springs Airport will open a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Global Entry Enrollment Center on January 13. The center is located at 7770 B, Milton E. Proby Parkway in Colorado Springs.

Global Entry is a program run by CBP that allows pre-approved, low-risk travelers to receive expedited processing upon arrival in the United States. Applicants are required to undergo background checks and complete an in-person interview before they can enroll.

Alex Kovacs, director of aviation, stated, “We are excited to have a Global Entry Enrollment Center here at Colorado Springs Airport—another way we make travel easier for our community and visitors. With our new international service to Cancun on Southwest Airlines and more destinations on the horizon, Global Entry offers travelers a faster, more streamlined experience with Customs and Border Protection.”

The Global Entry program is one of four Trusted Traveler Programs operated by the Department of Homeland Security to enhance security and simplify screening for approved members. The program currently has over 10 million members and operates at land, air, and sea ports of entry into the United States as well as at Preclearance locations worldwide.

Applicants who have received conditional approval are encouraged to schedule an interview through the official Trusted Traveler Program website. Membership in Global Entry also provides access to TSA PreCheck for quicker security screening at participating airports across the country.

Interviews at the new center are available by appointment only from Tuesday through Thursday between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Free designated parking is provided for applicants attending their interviews.

Required documents for enrollment include a valid passport (all valid passports if holding more than one), proof of residency such as a utility bill or driver’s license with current address, and a permanent resident card if applicable.

CBP describes itself as America’s largest law enforcement organization responsible for protecting borders on land, air, and sea while facilitating lawful travel and trade.

Colorado Springs Airport offers daily nonstop flights along with connections around the world.
