Colorado Springs Business Daily publication area records 1 H-1B petition approved for employers classified under Mining, Quarrying, and Oil and Gas Extraction industry during 2024

In 2024, the only H-1B petition submitted by Newmont Cripple Creek and Victor Mining Corporation, the only employer classified under the Mining, Quarrying, and Oil and Gas Extraction industry located across Colorado Springs Business Daily publication area was approved, according to data provided by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services via the H-1B Employer Data Hub.

That year, the statewide average approval rate for H-1B petitions stood at 97.9%, slightly higher than 2023’s 97.2%. Across the publication area, employers across all industries submitted 122 petitions during the same period, with an approval rate of 94.3%.

Among petitions from employers in the Health Care and Social Assistance industry, 93.3% were approved and 6.7% were denied.

Compared to 2023, the Mining, Quarrying, and Oil and Gas Extraction sector saw an increase in the number of H-1B petitions across Colorado Springs Business Daily publication area during 2024.
