The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) has launched its first public-facing data dashboard, providing residents with an interactive way to view emergency response activity throughout the city.
Fire Chief Randy Royal stated, “As your Fire Chief, I believe in transparency and accountability. I’m thrilled to publish this new dashboard for you. It gives you an inside look at how your fire department serves our community every day. You’ll be able to see call volumes, call types, and much more. Data drives our decisions and response strategies, which is why sharing this information with you is so important.”
The dashboard features two main interactive pages. The first page offers a 12-month overview of emergency incidents, including a breakdown of the most common call types, the top 10 sub-categories within each type, and a monthly trend chart that displays call volume over the past year.
The second page provides station-level and geographic information. Residents can select their neighborhood fire station to see details such as call distribution by time of day, station-specific data, and call volume from the last three months. A citywide map shows where calls are most concentrated.
Both pages allow users to explore data by month, category, and location. The CSFD says this tool demonstrates its ongoing commitment to transparency and aims to help residents better understand how the department contributes to public safety.
The dashboard is available online at ColoradoSprings.gov/csfd-data-dashboard.
