Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum plans reunion for former Conejos neighborhood residents

The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (CSPM) is organizing the Conejos Neighborhood Reunion on Saturday, September 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and open to families, featuring food trucks, crafts, a car show, live music by Mariachi Lobos, and performances from Ballet Folklórico de la Raza.

Leah Davis Witherow, CSPM curator of history, stated: “Five years ago, the CSPM opened theexhibit entitled Una Familia Grande: The Conejos Neighborhood Project toreflect the former Conejos residents’ deeply held bonds to their families,faith, culture, neighborhood and the City of Colorado Springs. Through their artifacts, photographs andstories, we put this once vibrant neighborhood back on the map and highlighttheir importance in our community’s history. We are honored to host andcelebrate these neighbors once again.”
