The Colorado Learning and Teaching with Technology (COLTT) community announced on Apr. 2 that its annual conference will take place on Aug. 5 and 6 at the University of Colorado Boulder. The event aims to bring together educators, learning designers, and campus partners from across the University of Colorado system and beyond to discuss strategies for adapting to ongoing changes in higher education.
The conference is especially relevant as institutions face challenges such as advances in artificial intelligence, changing student expectations, and evolving workforce needs. Organizers say this year’s theme, “Steer Into the Slide,” encourages participants to move beyond hesitation and actively engage with new ideas while keeping human-centered teaching at the forefront.
Attendees will have opportunities to explore practical methods for integrating AI and other technologies into their work, gain hands-on experience applicable immediately in classrooms, connect with colleagues from various disciplines, and share solutions for teaching during uncertain times. The program is designed both for action and reflection.
The first day of COLTT 2026 will feature an AI Workshop Series focused on creating real teaching materials and resources supported by artificial intelligence. The second day will include sessions covering topics such as learning analytics, course design, credentials, faculty support, accessibility, and more—aimed at helping educators adjust to a rapidly changing educational landscape.
Faculty members, instructional designers, technologists, and campus partners are invited to submit proposals by May 1 for full consideration. Registration is now open with a single flat rate covering both days of programming.
Organizers say COLTT 2026 provides a platform for collaboration as participants seek ways to address current challenges in higher education.
