CommonSpirit Health announced on Mar. 30 that it will distribute nearly $1.5 million in Community Health Improvement Grants to 54 community-based organizations across Colorado, Kansas, and Utah in 2026.
The funding aims to help these organizations address key health challenges and support vulnerable populations throughout the Mountain Region. CommonSpirit Health said this initiative is part of its mission to improve community health and promote social justice.
“We are humbled and grateful to have the opportunity to lend support through our CommonSpirit Community Health Improvement Grant program to these exceptional organizations as they engage in critical, life-changing work in our communities,” said Andrew Gaasch, Mountain Region President.
Gaasch also said, “Their efforts align perfectly with our mission: to improve the health of the people we serve, especially those who are vulnerable, while we advance social justice for all. This initiative reflects our unwavering focus on caring for our communities and addressing their most pressing health challenges with compassion and innovation.”
Some examples of grant recipients include Rise Against Suicide in Lafayette, Colorado ($38,500), Growing Gardens of Boulder County ($15,000), Axis Health System in Durango ($36,000), Centro de la Familia in Colorado Springs ($25,000), Catholic Charities of Southwest Kansas ($15,000), Doctors Care in Littleton ($40,000), and Navajostrong in Lehi, Utah ($11,000).
