CU System President Todd Saliman visited the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) campus, where he spent an afternoon with Chancellor Jennifer Sobanet and other campus leaders. The purpose of the visit was to learn about student programs, university spaces, and various aspects of student life at UCCS.

The visit began in the Student Life Lounge. During this time, President Saliman was introduced to several initiatives that support student engagement and well-being, including Clyde’s Cupboard, which is a resource aimed at helping students meet their basic needs. Saliman also met with members of the women’s basketball team to celebrate their recent victory in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).

Additionally, President Saliman joined a conversation with students from MOSAIC and International Affairs. He learned about ongoing efforts at UCCS to promote inclusion, intercultural understanding, and global citizenship among students.

Later in the day, there was a showcase highlighting research projects by both students and faculty. Presentations included work on expanding healthcare access in rural parts of Colorado, studies on cellular behavior related to cancer research, and new approaches for trauma recovery using boxing combined with mindfulness therapy.

To conclude his visit, President Saliman interacted with student leaders and representatives from various clubs on campus. This allowed him to engage directly with those involved in shaping student life and community at UCCS.
