Evergreen Marine has confirmed it will implement Inmarsat NexusWave across its entire fleet, following years of using Fleet Xpress. The NexusWave system offers bonded, multi-network connectivity that provides high-speed, unlimited data and consistent performance. This upgrade is designed to give crew members an internet experience similar to what they have at home and to improve ship operations with a platform capable of predictive analytics, real-time reefer monitoring, and integrated Internet of Things (IoT) services.

The new solution uses the ViaSat-3 ultra-high-capacity network, which allows Evergreen to expand as needed while maintaining security and operational efficiency. The technology is described as secure-by-design and scalable for future demands.

In a statement, Evergreen Marine said: “Evergreen’s fleetwide adoption of Inmarsat NexusWave reflects our commitment to the welfare of our seafarers and operational excellence, while also providing the platform to continue innovating for customers. We are confident that NexusWave, as a bonded, scalable, and secure connectivity solution, will support the digitalisation and future growth of our fleet.”

Gert-Jan Panken, Vice President Maritime at Viasat, added: “Evergreen is setting a clear standard for modern, data-driven shipping. By moving to NexusWave fleetwide, the company gains a single, managed connectivity solution for crew and vessel operations, backed by global coverage and secure infrastructure. We are proud to deepen our partnership and provide a platform that scales with Evergreen’s ambitions today and well into the future.”

Viasat completed its acquisition of Inmarsat in May 2023. The combined resources from both companies now support efforts like this upgrade for Evergreen Marine. Viasat operates globally in 24 countries with headquarters in London for its maritime division.
