Physicians and physician assistants in Colorado must complete at least two hours of training on opioid management for their license renewal, as required by state law. The Colorado Medical Board specifies that this education covers topics outlined in section 12-30-114(1)(a), C.R.S. and Rule 1.29.
Copic will offer free CME-accredited presentations via Zoom to help medical professionals meet these requirements for the upcoming licensure cycle from May 1, 2025, to April 30, 2027. The sessions are divided into two parts: “Opioids I: Best practices for opioid and benzodiazepine management using state and CDC guidelines” and “Opioids II: Strategies for Reducing the Burden: Diagnosis, treatment, tapering and documentation for acute and chronic opioids and benzodiazepines.” Multiple dates are available between February and April 2025.
“We will be sending registration information to Colorado licensees for whom we have Copic identifications early in 2025 and are publicizing this opportunity through our organized medicine partners at the physician and APP licensee levels.”
Copic is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
