The City of Colorado Springs announced on Mar. 18 that a free educational workshop for renters will be held on Tuesday, March 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Penrose Library and online. The event is organized by the Housing and Homelessness Response Department in partnership with several community organizations.

The workshop aims to help local renters better understand landlord-tenant laws, reduce housing-related conflicts, and connect participants with resources that support housing stability.

Clinton Albert, an attorney with Colorado Legal Services, will lead the session. Topics include renter rights and responsibilities, reasonable accommodations, eviction processes, and information about local organizations offering housing and legal assistance. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation; however, presenters cannot provide legal advice for individual situations.

Participants can register or join virtually by visiting ColoradoSprings.gov/Renter-Rights. Those who register have the option to receive presentation slides and a recording of the workshop after the event.

The workshop is presented in collaboration with Colorado Legal Services, Pikes Peak Library District, The Justice Center, Colorado Housing Connects, The Independence Center, Silver Key Senior Services, and the Community Economic Defense Project.
