Viasat has announced that Hiber, a Dutch technology company specializing in satellite-powered Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for the energy sector, has joined its ELEVATE community. The collaboration aims to address the challenges faced by energy companies operating in remote and difficult environments.

Hiber’s offering integrates advanced sensors, software, and satellite connectivity into a single package. This enables real-time monitoring of operations for energy companies, enhancing their ability to detect issues such as leaks or spills that could harm local ecosystems.

Simon Philipsen, Managing Director at Hiber, stated: “At Hiber, we’ve always believed that online monitoring for wells and pipelines is key to mitigating risks in remote fields. Spotting sudden changes reduces the risk of leaks and spills of hazardous elements that could harm local ecosystems. Rapid response allows engineers to be at the right place at the right time.”

Philipsen also commented on joining Viasat’s ELEVATE program: “ELEVATE represents our commitment to collaboration and innovation. We’re excited to partner with like-minded companies to tackle real-world challenges.” He emphasized that this partnership focuses on developing smarter and more reliable solutions through joint efforts.

The addition of Hiber reflects ongoing innovation within the satellite communications industry as it seeks new ways to support critical sectors like energy with improved connectivity and data-driven insights.
