The Virginia IAM Council recently held a meeting that brought together union members and leaders to discuss labor issues and political activism. Charles Mann, president of the council, spoke about the importance of member security, fair compensation, and workplace safety. He also urged members to participate in the upcoming Virginia elections, where all major statewide offices and delegate seats will be contested.

During the meeting, newly unionized IAM Union members shared their experiences organizing at botanical gardens. They discussed how support from both international and state union partners, including the AFL-CIO, played a key role in their efforts.

The event emphasized the need for strategic resources and continued organizing. Speakers highlighted that political engagement and voting are essential for advancing the labor movement and protecting worker rights, regardless of political party.
