The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) announced on Mar. 12 that its 2026 IAM Legislative Conference will take place from June 22 to June 24 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.

The conference is an important event for IAM members, providing an opportunity to engage directly with lawmakers and discuss issues affecting workers. In the previous year, more than 400 IAM members attended the conference in Washington, D.C., which was described as one of the strongest turnouts in recent history.

Registration for delegates will open at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 22, and continue until 12:30 p.m., with a second registration period available on Tuesday morning from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The opening session is scheduled for Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., where IAM Legislative and Political Director Hasan Solomon will begin the proceedings. This will be followed by a keynote address from IAM International President Brian Bryant.

General sessions are planned for both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon. Delegates will have reserved time during Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons to lobby on Capitol Hill and meet face-to-face with their elected representatives. The conference will conclude with a Congressional reception on Wednesday evening starting at 5:30 p.m.

All delegates are encouraged to arrange meetings with their Congressional district representative and both U.S. senators before arriving in Washington. According to the organization, these direct conversations are considered among the most effective ways for IAM members to communicate their concerns to elected officials.
