The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is inviting locals and districts to honor fallen members by adding personalized bricks to the IAM Workers Memorial at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland. The deadline for ordering these bricks is March 1, 2026.

Each year on Workers’ Memorial Day, the IAM commemorates workers who have died, been injured, or suffered illness as a result of their jobs. Locals or districts can pay tribute by purchasing a brick that will be installed at the memorial site. Bricks can be ordered with three lines of text for $100, or with an added IAM logo for $125, though this option limits each line to 15 characters. An 8×8 inch brick is also available for $200 and allows more lines of text with or without a logo. Supporters may also buy a commemorative tile for $10.

If a local has lost a member due to work-related causes, the IAM offers a complimentary brick in that individual’s honor upon submission of the order form.

The IAM Workers’ Memorial was completed in 2001 and serves as a tribute to those who have died while working. The memorial features bricks bearing names of deceased members as well as contributions from lodges and individual IAM members. Each year, the union holds a ceremony at the site to remember lost workers and reinforce efforts to prevent workplace injuries and fatalities. The date for this year’s ceremony will be announced later.

More information about pricing and ordering can be found on the official website.
