The International Labor Communications Association (ILCA) will hold its biennial convention in New Orleans from November 18 to 20, 2025. The event will feature community service activities, networking receptions, the ILCA awards, and a schedule of panels and workshops. The theme for this year’s convention is expected to be announced soon.

The ILCA is an organization that supports labor communicators in North America and operates as an allied group of the AFL-CIO. IAM Union Assistant Communications Director DeLane Adams currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer for the ILCA.

The IAM Communications Department, along with its districts and locals, has received recognition at previous ILCA Labor Media Awards Contests. These contests are considered the largest and longest-running competitions dedicated to labor communications in North America.

Among this year’s winners representing the IAM Union are Angela Colaizzi, who received the Max Steinbock Award for “NLRB Takes Down Union Buster”; Ashley Mumford and the IAM Journal Team, who secured third place for Best Print Publication with the Summer 2023 issue; and Ross Olson, who was awarded third place for Best Design – Single Issue Publication.

Past conventions have provided opportunities for labor communications professionals to exchange best practices across North America.

Registration for the upcoming convention is open to all interested participants; membership is not required to attend.
