The planned overnight closures of Marksheffel Road, which were set to take place this week for drainage work, have been postponed because of expected weather conditions. The section affected is from south of Tarren Heights to north of Stetson Hills Boulevard.

According to city officials, the closures are now likely to occur in mid-February. More details will be shared as the new schedule approaches.

On Monday, January 26, flaggers will direct traffic through a single lane on Marksheffel Road between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. This will allow crews to sawcut pavement at several locations between Tarren Heights and Stetson Hills Boulevard in preparation for future drainage improvements. Drivers are advised to use extra caution when passing through the area. The work is dependent on weather and may be rescheduled if necessary.

Improving the two-lane stretch of Marksheffel Road between North Carefree Circle and Dublin Boulevard remains a priority for the City. Once completed, the corridor will feature two lanes in each direction, a center median, upgraded drainage systems, as well as new sidewalks and paths. Additional information can be found at ColoradoSprings.gov/Marksheffel. Residents can receive updates about road closures and changes in traffic patterns by texting IMPROVE to 866-762-3640 or calling the project hotline at 719-645-4055.
