On Sunday, October 5, the City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department will hold its last Motorless Morning event of the year at Garden of the Gods Park. The event restricts all motor vehicle access in the park from 5 a.m. to noon.

The park remains free and open to everyone during this time.

During Motorless Morning, regular park rules apply. Skateboards and longboards are allowed on park roads for this event. The city will also set up slow zones and one-way traffic patterns. Pedestrians are asked to walk on the right side of the road so that cyclists can pass on the left.

Parking is available at several locations outside the main park area: Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center (1805 30th Street), Garden of the Gods Trading Post (324 Beckers Lane, Manitou Springs), or Parking Lot 1 at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site (corner of 30th Street and Gateway Road). For those who need assistance from Parking Lot 1, a shuttle into the main parking lot will run between 7 a.m. and noon upon request.

There is designated parking for persons with disabilities at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center. From there, an accessible shuttle into the main parking lot is available by request during Motorless Morning hours. All visitors have access to routes throughout the park that meet accessibility standards, and other power-driven mobility devices are permitted according to city policy.
