The Colorado Department of Transportation announced on Apr. 15 that overnight lane and full closures will continue this week and weekend on northbound Colorado Highway 157 (Foothills Parkway) at Pearl Street in Boulder, as crews carry out concrete panel removal and replacement.
These closures are necessary to ensure the safety of motorists and workers while reducing the overall impact duration for drivers. Motorists traveling northbound on CO 157 or using Pearl Street should expect delays of up to 15 minutes, with officials encouraging use of alternate routes over the weekend to avoid congestion.
According to the department, Wednesday and Thursday nights will see northbound CO 157 reduced to a single lane from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with closure of the Pearl Street on-ramp. Detours will direct traffic via Pearl Street west to 30th Street or east to 55th Street, then north to Valmont Street before accessing the ramp again. A full closure is scheduled from Friday night at 9 p.m. through Sunday morning at 4 a.m., after which lanes will be partially reopened until Monday evening.
Uniformed traffic control officers will assist with managing flow during these periods, and drivers are urged by project officials “to slow down, watch for workers and equipment and maintain safe following distances.” Real-time updates can be found on COTrip.org.
