To move forward with the Interstate 25 and US Highway 50B Interchange project, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and SEMA Construction will implement a series of overnight closures on I-25 in Pueblo. These closures are necessary to safely demolish the existing US 50B bridge over I-25.
Access at the interchange will continue to be limited, with only northbound I-25 on- and off-ramps available until the project reaches substantial completion. Drivers are advised to use CO 47 for access to both US 50B and I-25.
“Removal of the US 50B bridge over I-25 is integral to advancing the I-25/US 50B interchange project,” said CDOT Regional Transportation Director Shane Ferguson. “The closures are required to ensure the safety of work crews and the traveling public.”
Starting November 7, motorists should expect these changes:
Southbound travelers on I-25 will be detoured via CO 47 (Exit 101), then continue on CO 96, using Santa Fe Avenue and 13th Street (Exit 99B) before returning to southbound I-25.
Northbound drivers should use the off-ramp to eastbound US 50B (Exit 100A) and then CO 47 (Exit 318) for access back onto northbound I-25.
