Pueblo Community College announces winners of Fall 2025 Student Art Exhibition

The Fine Arts, Humanities & Media Communications department at Pueblo Community College has announced the winners of its Fall 2025 Student Art Exhibition. The announcement was made during an opening reception held on December 5.

Students from the college submitted works across six categories: 2D design, ceramics, drawing, advanced drawing, jewelry, and photography. Awards were presented for first, second, and third place in each category.

Anna Harbert received best of show honors for her piece “Parts of a Whole.” The juror’s choice award went to “Drop Dead Gorgeous” by Beth Untiedt. Judy Lubbers earned the chair’s choice award for her work titled “Asian Mystique.”

PCC President Chato Hazelbaker selected “Pepper,” a drawing by Ashlan Kelly, for the president’s purchase award. According to the college, this piece will be displayed on campus and added to Pueblo Community College’s permanent collection. Current and past exhibitions from spring 2020 through spring 2025 can be viewed online in the virtual gallery.

Winners in each category include:

2D Design: First place went to DeAnna Martinez for “Echoes.” Second place was awarded to Gavin Hurtado for “Skulls,” while third place also went to Martinez for “Eat the Rich.” Honorable mentions included works by Dylan Casey, DeAnna Martinez, and Jacobi Rhyme.

Ceramics: Beth Untiedt took first with “Alli,” followed by Natalie Untiedt with “Desert Flor” in second and Hez Salsbury with “Rocky Mountain Poison” in third. Honorable mentions were given to Tyce DeLaFuente, Kyria Orton, and Natalie Untiedt.

Drawing: Wyatt Cosat won first place with “Canon City Public Library.” Ashlan Kelly placed second with “Pepper,” while Selah Dasher took third with “The things I love.” Honorable mentions included pieces by Wyatt Cosat, Liam Kelly, and Kiera Medina.

Advanced Drawing: Shaina Diedrichs won both first (“Anndolf the Grey”) and second (“Three Evil Canadians”) places. Anna Harbert received third for “Gem Girl.” Jolanda Burris and Nicole Valdez received honorable mentions.

Jewelry: Gabriella Sandoval took first with her “Jellyfish Keychain,” Connor Kelly placed second with “King of the Forest,” and Sandoval also secured third for “Lace Ring.” Bailee Rainford and Mike Saiz-Aleman received honorable mentions.

Photography: Emily Mendoza won first prize for “Black and White Heaven.” Xavier Velasquez came in second with “Baby,” while Brooke Coulter was awarded third for “Faithful Colors.” Honorable mentions went to Gavin Hurtado and Emily Mendoza.
