Pueblo Community College (PCC) has reported a 13.7% increase in spring 2026 enrollment compared to the previous year, according to official data released by the institution. The total headcount for the spring semester, which includes students at branch campuses in Cañon City and Mancos as well as a site in Durango, is now 6,928. This makes PCC the largest college in southern Colorado. Officials anticipate that this number will grow further as late-start classes and other initiatives are factored in.
Mike Gage, vice president of student success at PCC, stated, “Our enrollment growth reflects the confidence our communities place in the education and support we provide. We are delivering on our mission through relevant academic programs and comprehensive services that help students succeed. Every student has a place at PCC, and we stand firmly behind them on their path to achievement.”
The college reports that 66% of its current students are first-generation college attendees and half identify as students of color. Additionally, 68% of enrolled students have received some form of financial aid this semester.
Enrollment increases have been most notable in programs such as welding, automotive technology, and health care fields like radiology. To address workforce needs within the community, PCC plans to introduce new programs including aviation maintenance, Practical Nursing Plus, and a bachelor’s degree in sonography starting fall 2026.
For those seeking shorter-term educational opportunities or looking to build specific skills quickly, PCC will also launch certificate programs in criminal justice, investigation, general education foundational skills, and several micro certificates focused on medical coding.
