CommonSpirit St. Thomas More Hospital will reopen its therapy pool on November 3 after a period of renovations. The facility, located in Canon City, Colorado, will offer aquatic therapy sessions to individuals aged 55 and older. The hospital says the pool is an important resource for the health and wellness of the local senior community.

The therapy pool had been temporarily closed for upgrades. Hospital officials acknowledged the inconvenience and thanked the community for its patience during the renovation process. The updated facility is intended to better support therapeutic and fitness needs.

“We understand how much our therapy pool means to the Canon City community, especially to our senior population who rely on it for their health and wellness,” said Mike Cafasso, President, STM. “We’ve worked to ensure the pool is not only back to its optimal condition but also better equipped to support the therapeutic and fitness goals of our neighbors.”

Participation in the program will be through scheduled sessions, with classes offered on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 8 a.m., 8:45 a.m., and 9:30 a.m. Seniors interested in joining can register by contacting St. Thomas More Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation at 719-285-2600. The cost is $40 for individuals or $60 per couple, with payment by check required.

The hospital states that bringing back this service demonstrates its ongoing commitment to supporting the well-being of Canon City seniors.
