Tejon Street in downtown Colorado Springs will be closed to vehicle traffic between Pikes Peak Avenue and East Kiowa Street beginning Tuesday, Sept. 2, and continuing through December. The closure is part of the ongoing Tejon Street Revitalization Project as construction moves into its final block.

According to city officials, the project involves improvements to sidewalks, patios, and streets in the area. While vehicles will not be able to access this section of Tejon Street during construction, pedestrian routes will remain open so that businesses can continue operating. Businesses located within the affected block are being provided with vouchers for two hours of free parking at three nearby city garages.

The revitalization effort covers the stretch between Colorado Avenue and East Kiowa Street. Its goals include expanding outdoor dining spaces and sidewalks to enhance public safety, make the area more accessible for pedestrians, and boost business activity. Further details about the project and options for signing up for newsletters are available at https://coloradosprings.gov/tejonstreet.
