Timed-entry permits and shuttle tickets for Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain will be available for purchase starting April 1, according to an announcement released on Mar. 31.

The new system aims to help manage visitor flow during the busy summer season by requiring timed-entry permits for vehicles traveling past mile 7 on the Pikes Peak Highway between May 22 and September 30, 2026. Each $2 permit assigns an arrival window at the Gateway, which is intended to control traffic and parking at the summit. Permits are required per vehicle.

All visitors must also pay admission fees in addition to securing a permit. The cost is $18 for adults and $8 for children, with discounted rates available for vehicles.

Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain Manager Skyler Rorabaugh said, “The timed-entry system and shuttle service help ensure visitors have a smoother, more enjoyable experience from the Gateway to the summit.” Rorabaugh encouraged guests to plan ahead: “We encourage visitors to plan ahead and purchase tickets early to secure their preferred date and time.”

Shuttle service tickets will also be sold beginning April 1. Shuttle riders park at mile 7 before boarding buses that stop at Glen Cove (mile 13), Devils Playground (mile 16), and the Summit (mile 19). Shuttles run about every half hour so visitors can explore different areas along the route as they choose. Pricing is set at $40 for adults aged sixteen or older, $12 for children ages six through fifteen, while children five or younger ride free. Shuttle tickets include highway admission; those using this option do not need a separate timed-entry permit.

Service operates daily through August 9—except June 20–21 due to the Hill Climb event—and continues on weekends through September as well as Labor Day. All shuttles are accessible under Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines and feature bike racks.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.drivepikespeak.com.
