Next week, drivers on Colorado Highway 7 (Arapahoe Avenue) in Boulder will see a change in traffic patterns as construction crews shift all traffic to the eastbound lanes between Foothills Parkway and Range Street. This adjustment will reduce the roadway to one lane in each direction while work is completed on the westbound lanes. The new configuration is expected to remain until September 22.

During this period, access to local businesses along the corridor will stay open. Pedestrians are encouraged to use posted detour routes for safe passage around the construction zone.

Additionally, from Friday, September 19 at 5 p.m. through Monday, September 22 at 5 a.m., the north intersection of CO 7 and 48th Street will be closed for milling and paving work. A detour route will allow continued access to 48th Street during this time. The closure and detour are scheduled to last throughout the weekend.

Detour routes have been established for those needing access to Boulder Community Health.

“Access to local businesses will remain open throughout construction, and pedestrians are advised to follow posted detour routes for safe navigation around the work zone.”

“A detour will be in place to maintain access to 48th Street.”
