The U.S. Census Bureau has published new statistics on geographic mobility and place of birth for 2024. The data, released today, include estimates on how people move between the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and from abroad.
The State-to-State Migration Flows table provides information about the number of individuals relocating between different states and territories as well as those moving to the United States from other countries. Another table offers estimates of residents in each state, D.C., and Puerto Rico by their place of birth.
These statistics are derived from the 2024 American Community Survey (ACS) 1-year estimates.
