The U.S. Census Bureau has released updated international population estimates and projections extending to the year 2100 for 21 countries and areas. The data, available through the International Database (IDB), covers countries including Australia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, the United States, and others.

This update incorporates new information from recent censuses, surveys, and administrative records. It also includes revised analyses based on these sources. The release features demographic indicators such as population size and growth by sex and single year of age up to 100-plus years old. Components of change like mortality, fertility, and net international migration are also included.

Additionally, the update provides data for 13,671 subnational areas worldwide—comparable to states or counties in the United States—and introduces enhanced mapping capabilities.

According to the Census Bureau: “The IDB consists of estimates and projections of demographic indicators, including population size and growth (by sex and single year of age up to 100-plus) and components of change (mortality, fertility and net international migration) for more than 220 countries and areas. The Census Bureau periodically updates the IDB as new data become available.”

These resources can be accessed on the International Database Overview webpage.
