The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will host two finalists for the position of Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs during the week of November 10. The university invites faculty, staff, students, and community members to attend open campus presentations by each candidate.

Dr. CiƩ Gee will present on Thursday, November 13. Dr. Gee currently serves as Associate Vice Provost for Career Engaged Learning at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She also directs the Quality Enhancement Plan and is a clinical faculty member at UTSA. Her experience includes leadership roles in enrollment management, strategic planning, assessment, admissions, and registrar functions.

Dr. Gee is a three-time graduate of UTSA with degrees in Educational Leadership, Interpersonal Communication, and Speech Communication. She holds credentials from AACRAO and APLU among others. According to her professional profile: “Known for translating vision into action, Dr. Gee has guided teams through complex institutional change aligning academic and student affairs to strengthen retention, career readiness, and graduation outcomes.” Her leadership approach emphasizes clarity and collaboration: “Her leadership philosophy centers on clarity, connection, and shared purpose.” Dr. Gee is also recognized as a national speaker and author; her book ā€œThe Door Holder: The Art of Leadership Navigationā€ focuses on enabling others’ success through leadership.

On Friday, November 14, Dr. Stephen Schultheis will present his qualifications for the role. Dr. Schultheis currently serves as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Chief Enrollment Officer at Middle Georgia State University. His higher education career spans more than two decades across various positions in enrollment management and student affairs.

He began his career at Monroe College in New York before moving to Clayton State University where he advanced to vice president roles focused on enrollment management and student success prior to joining Middle Georgia State University in 2022.

Throughout his career: “Dr. Schultheis has maintained a strong focus on advocating for students, particularly those facing barriers to educational access and success,” according to his statement provided by UCCS. He has led initiatives aimed at increasing enrollment, retention rates, and graduation rates while building collaborative relationships across campus communities as well as with external partners including corporate entities.

Dr. Schultheis earned his bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University; his master’s from Columbia University; and his doctorate from St. John Fisher College.

Both presentations are scheduled from 8:45-9:30 a.m., held in UC 302 with livestream options available for remote participants.

The search committee co-chairs are Robin Parent (Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives & Chief of Staff) and Nate Gibson (Executive Director of Athletics). Other committee members include representatives from admissions services, student government leadership, residence life administration, disability services coordination as well as faculty representatives.
