Nearly 1,100 students at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will receive their degrees during the Fall 2025 Commencement ceremony scheduled for Friday, December 19. The event will take place at the Broadmoor World Arena and begin at 2:00 p.m., celebrating graduates from all UCCS colleges.
Graduates are required to arrive by 1:15 p.m. and will enter through Gates A, B, or C before checking in based on last name. Those earning Latin honors—cum laude, magna cum laude, or summa cum laude—will be given honor cords during check-in. There is no storage available for personal belongings inside the arena.
All attendees will go through security checks upon entry. Each person may bring one clear plastic bag up to 12”x6”x12” and one clutch up to 8.5”x2.5”x5”. Further details on arena policies and prohibited items can be found online.
The ceremony is open to both graduates and guests without charge. Seating is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of four seats held per individual. Handicapped seating is located on Row K around the perimeter of the arena; each wheelchair user may have one guest seated with them. Sign language interpretation services are available at section 107’s base, while live captioning can be accessed throughout the arena via uccs.edu/cc.
The commencement will also be livestreamed on YouTube and covered through UCCS social media channels so that additional friends and family can watch remotely.
Parking at Broadmoor World Arena is free but heavy traffic is anticipated before and after the ceremony; carpooling is encouraged.
Graduates eligible for additional cords or stoles should contact their respective departments or offices directly for distribution information. Alumni who have immediate family members who graduated from UCCS may receive a black and gold legacy cord from the Alumni Association. Students donating $25 or more to the class gift are recognized with a blue cord.
Upon graduation, new alumni join a community exceeding 57,000 members worldwide through complimentary enrollment in the UCCS Alumni and Friends Association.
