Food banks at University of Colorado campuses are asking for donations as a possible federal government shutdown could lead to a pause in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. This may cause an increase in demand for food assistance among students and others who rely on these programs.
The food banks, which operate on all four University of Colorado campuses, provide food and personal hygiene products to students facing financial challenges. President Todd Saliman visited Clyde’s Cupboard at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs last week, highlighting the importance of supporting these resources.
Community members are encouraged to donate to campus food banks to help meet anticipated needs. Each campus has its own food bank: Buff Pantry at CU Boulder, Clyde’s Cupboard at UCCS, Milo’s Market at CU Denver, and the CU Anschutz Food Pantry.
More information about donation needs and how to contribute can be found by visiting each campus’s website.
