The University of Colorado’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship Showcase will return on September 15 as part of Colorado Startup Week in downtown Denver. The event, which follows its first edition last year, highlights the university’s ongoing role in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship across the state and beyond.

This year’s program will feature Inspiration Hall, an expo where more than 60 innovators, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders will present their work. The showcase also includes a keynote session with speakers who have experience in various fields.

Among the scheduled speakers are Matt Ridenour, head of U.S. accelerator and startup ecosystems for Google; Thomas “Detour” Evans, a CU Denver alumnus and artist; Maithreyi Gopalakrishnan, a CU Boulder alumna and founder of PrecisionTerra; Rafael de la Vega, a UCCS alumnus and CEO of Salt Athletic; and Vik Bebarta, professor at the CU School of Medicine and director of the Center for Combat Medicine and Battlefield Research.

The event is organized under the President’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiative. This initiative aims to build on efforts throughout the university system in research, education, and collaboration with both private and public sectors to create real-world impact.

“CU’s longstanding leadership in innovation is marked by groundbreaking solutions and advances in health, climate, education, technology and lifestyle, among other areas affecting our daily lives,” said CU President Todd Saliman. “To be able to see so many of our remarkable community members together in one space at the showcase and experience their work firsthand reaffirms that the university is not merely preparing our students for the future, we’re shaping the future.”

More information about attending or registering for the CU Innovation & Entrepreneurship Showcase can be found on the event website.
