The University of Colorado is now accepting entries for the 2026 CU Innovation & Efficiency (CU I&E) Awards, an annual program that recognizes employees for their contributions to improving university operations.

According to the Office of University Controller, “Every day, CU employees advance the way we work, and the CU Innovation & Efficiency (CU I&E) Awards celebrate the thoughtful, effective solutions driving that progress.”

This year’s submissions include a project from CU Anschutz titled Redesigned Research Studies Website Boosts Access and Engagement. The project reportedly more than doubled research participation inquiries by improving website navigation and search functions.

In 2025, the top award was given to Sustainability in Simulation Operations at CU Anschutz. The university is encouraging participation from all campuses as it seeks new projects that demonstrate measurable improvements.

Winners will be selected by a judging panel and can receive up to $1,500 in cash prizes.

The awards aim to highlight projects that bring about significant operational improvements within the university system.
