The University of Colorado’s Federal Relations and Counsel office has released an update on several federal policy issues relevant to higher education. The update, dated January 23, covers topics including fiscal year 2026 appropriations, a lawsuit related to the TRIO program, the withdrawal of a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) lawsuit by the U.S. Department of Education (ED), staff transitions from ED to the Department of Labor (DOL), and a new National Institutes of Health (NIH) policy regarding fetal tissue research.

Members of the university community are encouraged to read the full post for detailed information on these developments. “For the latest communications and federal memos, please visit the CU System Federal Updates and Actions page.”

These updates are part of ongoing efforts by University of Colorado leadership to keep faculty, staff, and students informed about changes in federal policies that may affect university operations and programs.
