The University of Colorado’s Federal Relations and Counsel office released an update on August 29, outlining several recent federal developments. The update includes information about a Supreme Court ruling related to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), as well as proposed changes and actions from various federal agencies.

Among the topics covered are a proposed rule by the Department of Homeland Security regarding duration of status, an executive order addressing political activity by federal grantees, and a bulletin titled “Safeguarding Academia.” The update also notes the removal of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director, elimination of the Health and Human Services MBRS program, a blocked funding cut to sanctuary jurisdictions, and a lawsuit involving the Department of Justice’s Homeland Security Investigations.

The university directs those interested in more details to visit its CU System Federal Transitions Updates page for ongoing communications and memos.
