The University of Colorado has updated its administrative policy regarding the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA), according to an announcement from the Office of Policy and Efficiency (OPE). The changes, which took effect on February 1, 2026, are intended to centralize how public records inquiries and requests are managed.

Requests for public records under CORA will now be submitted through an online form. This new process directs submissions to both the Director of Public Records Compliance and relevant campus records custodians for response.

The revisions to APS2022 bring the university’s policy in line with this centralized approach and digital submission method. Further details about these updates can be found on the OPE website at https://www.cu.edu/ope/aps/latest-changes.

Additional information about systemwide administrative policy statements is available at http://www.cu.edu/ope.
