The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will conduct survey work on US Highway 160 west of Bayfield from September 9 to September 26. The project will take place between Elmore’s Corner at Mile Point 91.8 and Silver Hills Road at Mile Point 97, just west of County Road 223.

Motorists traveling between Durango and Bayfield are advised to plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time during the three-week period. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

According to CDOT, crews will attempt to keep traffic moving by alternating lanes through the work zone when possible. However, full stops and lane closures may be necessary for safety during operations.

A highway travel alert map showing delays and survey locations is available for those seeking more information about the project schedule and impacts.
