Viasat announced on April 29 that it has successfully launched the ViaSat-3 F3 satellite and acquired its initial signal. The company said this event completes its next generation ViaSat-3 satellite constellation, marking a significant milestone in Viasat’s global, multi-orbit network strategy.

The launch of the third satellite, following the service entry of ViaSat-3 F1 in 2024 and ongoing in-orbit testing of ViaSat-3 F2, is expected to allow Viasat to further increase its global capacity and performance. According to Viasat, “ViaSat‑3 F3 completes Viasat’s next generation ViaSat‑3 satellite constellation and marks a key milestone in the company’s global, multi‑orbit network strategy. With ViaSat‑3 F1 in service since 2024 and ViaSat‑3 F2’s in-orbit testing advancing, the launch of F3 positions Viasat to further scale global capacity and performance.”

The company also provided additional information about what the new satellite means for its business and customers through an online resource.
