Viasat has announced a new incentive program aimed at its business aviation customers currently using Ku-band in-flight connectivity. The initiative offers up to $140,000 per aircraft for those upgrading to JetXP, the company’s latest connectivity service. The incentives are available for a limited time and apply to customers transitioning to JetXP with existing Gogo Plane Simple Ka-band or Honeywell JetWave terminals, as well as the upcoming Honeywell JetWave X.

According to Viasat, the upgrade will provide access to uncapped speeds, expanded capacity, and increased network prioritization. The company also highlighted that regulatory approvals have been secured in key markets such as India and China. Viasat’s business aviation distribution partners—Collins Aerospace, Gogo, and Honeywell—will continue to offer concierge customer service and 24/7 support.

Kai Tang, Head of Business Aviation at Viasat, stated: “Our mission is simple. We want to connect operators of large cabin and super midsized jets – whether flying domestically or across the globe – with more flexible and affordable service plans using JetXP, the most advanced business aviation service we’ve ever offered.

“This includes customers using our legacy Ku-band service, which will sunset in September 2026. We have invested in these major incentives, alongside our partners, to reward their long-term loyalty and provide a cost-effective upgrade path that keeps them in the Viasat family. We’ve already seen strong uptake from customers and encourage others to contact their preferred MRO for more information about the fly-away pricing.”

JetXP was launched less than a year ago by combining the previous Jet ConneX and Viasat Ka services under one brand. There are now over 2,100 customers worldwide using JetXP. Its development followed input from customers, partners, research agencies, and analysis of usage trends indicating that expectations for business aviation connectivity have shifted toward overall experience rather than just speed.

To meet evolving demands, Viasat has increased network capacity density and flexibility in several regions including the United States—a country responsible for an estimated 65% of global business jet traffic (https://nbaa.org/news/business-aviation-insider/2023-march-april/how-business-aviation-supports-u-s-economic-growth/). Earlier this month, Viasat introduced five times more capacity for JetXP across the Eastern U.S., with plans for further nationwide expansion underway.

Tang added: “Business aviation customers expect connectivity that mirrors their experience on the ground, not just in speed, but also in reliability, flexibility, and global reach. With JetXP, we are harnessing the full power of our global Ka-band network, offering more capacity where it matters most, while delivering the concierge-level service, support and regulatory approvals this market demands.”
